We asked for a quiet room away from where the train comes in and received it. Clean and large. Close to everything. Excellent restaurant on site. Just minutes down the road is Bearizona. Saw over 30 bears and other animals. They feed them sweet potatoes and squash in the afternoon around 1:30. Fantastic time seeing them close by on the sides of the Safari roads. Walking part was great to. Trip of a lifetime. Great restaurants in town. Easy few minutes walk to get to the train to the Grand Canyon. Great entertainment on the train, from country & rock singers to western entertainment. Including a train robbery on the way back with cowboys on horses stopping the train. We saw a large group of wild horses running near the side of the train, 100's of large Elk, and other wild animals. Spent 3 hours at the Grand Canyon. We walked the Rim trail and saw a group of wild deer. Many people had lunch at the G.C. We took out a excellent box lunch from a nearby restaurant that had a big bakery to enjoy on the train ride. Gave us extra time at the G.C. Fantastic 3 days. Don't miss walking around the main street to all the shops and restaurants. Best place to stay in town.

We had a fabulous stay at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel! The location couldn’t have been better—just steps from the charming downtown area with restaurants and shops, and right next to the railway station where we boarded the train to the Grand Canyon. The facilities were wonderful. The lobby was beautiful and welcoming, the bar was a great place to relax in the evening, and our room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Customer service was outstanding—friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay. Overall, it was a perfect experience and made our Grand Canyon adventure even more special. Highly recommend!

The hotel is huge, a good example of white rat practice (going through a maze). Our room was pretty convenient to the exit where the car was parked and where we left to catch the train to the Grand Canyon. I asked for an extra blanket to be sure I would be warm enough; two were delivered within minutes. As it turned out, the temperature was comfortable without being too hot or too cold.

Proximity to Grand Canyon was great! About an hour's drive from South Rim Visitor's Center. The town where hotel is located has a small hometown feel but several options for dining. The hotel, though a little dated, was clean and perfect for family traveling with kids. The hotel staff members were friendly and very helpful! Some of the nicest people I've ever dealt with.

The hotel was very nice. Harvey restaurant had a nice buffet, breakfast and dinner were both excellent. The bar restaurant had really good food as well. The location was the most important. We didn’t have to use our car, the train we took to the Grand Canyon was out back a few steps from the hotel. I would stay there again. Nice place.
